Blushing apple

We were picking Ginger Gold apples and looking for the apples with a bit of red blush on them. I asked, "how do you make an apple blush?"

"?"

"You tell it a saucy joke."

Later I told this joke to the priest that baptized my nephew Sacha George. I loved telling a saucy joke to a priest.

I think it is a great joke because it is meta. If the person blushes then he/she IS the blushing apple of the joke. The jokes on them. 

If it were an egg instead of an apple, the yolk would be on them.
